Licensing Board Policy 1st April 2010
The Licensing Board met on 1st April 2010 , to review the current drivers and the current private hire operators conditions
The Board at the meeting have decided to alter the drivers conditions with one new and one altered condition these are as follows ;-
Conditions
5. The driver must report to the Licensing Section any, Caution, Warning, ASBO, Conviction, and any driving offences within 14 days of the date of issue (fixed penalties) or conviction.
6. The Licensee is required to comply with the statutory requirements and attention is drawn in particular to part II of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976.
You will note that condition 5 is brand new, Condition 6 was a warning at the bottom of the conditions list and the Board have now made it a condition of your licence,
Condition 5 has the most inpact in that Drivers have now to report any conviction or caution, driving offence etc, to the licensing section within 14 days of the date of conviction, It was discussed what report means, It was suggested that written, phone confirmation of offences would be allowed, physical attendance at the licensing section will not always be needed.
Private Hire operators Conditions.
The Board decided to accepted the reviesed version of the new operators conditions and the changes that were incorperated, these included that an operators
3. The Licensee shall keep a written/computer record showing the following particulars in respect of every private hire vehicle operated by him:
(c) A copy of the current private hire vehicle licence as issued by Sheffield City Council.
(d) A copy of the current insurance certificate for the vehicle, which clearly states the permitted drivers and permitted use of the vehicle.
6. The Licensee shall keep a written record showing the following particulars in respect of every driver
(for private hire purposes) of every private hire vehicle operated by him:
(b) A copy of the private hire and hackney carriage drivers licence as issued by Sheffield City Council under Section 51 of the Act of 1976 and Section 46 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 and in force during such time as the driver is driving a vehicle being operated by the Licensee;
