A group of people were spotted standing around Barkers Pool near the taxis today having photos taken. One chap was fully clad in heavy duty gear all decorated as a Lord Mayor along with others smartly dressed people. It turns that this was a result of a presentation ceremony held somewhere in the quiet corner of Town Hall for long standing good service of some thirty four years by Mr W Khan. Because the nature of communications most of us outside of the station are only aware of scraps of info that this was a photo opportunity with the lowly taxi drivers of Sheffield by the elite group. The photo op was a little marred by one person in the group actually dropping a frame of some sort and smashing the glass on the footpath. The pieces were quickly retrieved of course before a keen city centre embassador could turn up to fine them for littering, never aound when you need one. Very Happy
Then as quickly as they came they left the scene without a word to the woking class drivers that the elite group had just used as a backdrop to their photo oppertunity for the papers. Rolling Eyes We probably will read about it in the paper as a completely different event of course Razz Smile
