Recently needed to replace front section (catalytic converter part) of the exhaust pipe of my private car. Typical price quoted by exhaust places was £215 fully fitted.
Managed to buy it from SDL on Unit 2C Nunnery Drive, Parkway, Sheffield, S2 1TA (Tel 0114-276 5335) for £84 and had it fitted separately elsewhere.
A penny saved is a penny earned. I managed to save over £100.
