EEC driver licence rule change to drive Taxi or PH
I notice a rule change announcement concerning EEC licence holders posted by admin from the pco website, does that apply to Sheffield as well or is it just London licensing authority? https://taxiforum.editboard.com/some-rules-f6/pco-notice-05-09-t631.htm?sid=2d21560a37c289a1b18b364ea5e8ae88
I ask only because Sheffield has refused in the past to consider EEC drivers who didn't have a UK licence, but North East Derbyshire do licence them, so maybe now this rule change, if it applies to all, makes it a fairer system?

Re: EEC driver licence rule change to drive Taxi or PH
Sheffield Council adopted this in 2007, this of accepting a EU licence for application purposes, we are now introducing the system of asking applicants with such licences to get the DVLA counterpart (paper) licence aswell. The DVLA did not offer this in 2007. We did state to applicants that if they were permenant resisdents then they should be applying for a GB licence in any case, but we have know legal recourse if they didnt.
Hope this clarifies the situation.
