Monthly sales of the new TX4 taxi, launched by manufacturer LTI Vehicles last October, are expected to top 400 for the first time in March.
The widespread praise for the latest incarnation of the iconic London-style taxi, which retains the distinctive black cab shape, has led to a leap in demand from drivers wanting an 07-plated vehicle.
Sales since the launch have hit record levels for the Coventry-based firm, the largest British-owned vehicle manufacturer, which has increased production levels to cope with demand
The TX4 boasts a raft of new features, including a cleaner, Euro IV compliant VM engine, anti-lock brakes as standard and improved suspension for a smoother ride.
