I HAVE JUST SPENT HALF AN HOUR on this topic but, it does'nt seem to have sent it!.anyway to cut along story short how about textataxi for a small group of drivers just to get started.can do up to 9 zones,only costs customers 15p pls snc which is a damm site cheaper than zingo!.
The general public text like mad specially our most frequent customers,young ppl so,they would see it as easier than ringing.

With work as it is running within a zone would not be so bad as comming back empty!.

This bloke was advertising this on a taxi thread on Sheffield Forum seems interesting but I think a tad tedious.

The bloke says £400 then £50 per month for 18month contract.
Need computer with a good signal (base).If there is no hidden costs then this sounds like a good price for a small group of cab drivers just starting up.Obviously the big ph firms have the best systems but,then they have the big radio rents!.
They pay for the text back to the customer to confirm the booking. Its a possibility.I have a customer who always texts me which we both find more convenient and efficient.
