Monday, 9.30am - This knife was found in the back of Grantham taxi firm owner Matt Wainwright's cab on Friday night, prompting him to warn his fellow drivers about the dangers they face.
Matt, who owns ITA Taxis, discovered the blade stuffed in between his back seats and handed the weapon to police.
The discovery comes just a fortnight after a female taxi driver was allegedly abducted and assaulted during a 90-minute ordeal before being abandoned in Nottingham.
Matt said: "Taxi drivers and other people need to know what's being carried out there.
"After what happened the other week it makes you realise the dangers of being in this trade. This knife is not the kind of thing people use to cut carpet, it's something that would be carried on the streets.
"I don't know what the intentions of the person who left it in the car were, but there is nothing we can do."
Matt says the only option is to install sercurity screens or CCTV cameras, but this could cost in excess of £500 for each car
