Fare increase effective but??

Having recieved no objections in the given time, the fare increase comes into effect pending certain conditions. The main condition is that the fare cannot be charged till the new notice from the council is displayed in the cab and the meter recalibrated to show the increase as an extra on meter face. The new notices from the licensing are still in the process of being prepared and only after they are available for distribution by hand or post that we move onto the next stage.

Just heard on the grapevine that everything will be ready for Thursday morning so the Meters will be able to be chipped form Thurdsday onwards. Is it correct that you dont have to have them done if you dont want and that you dont have to charge the extra fare, ????

I might have agreed with you vulcan had it not been roumored that a cab was failed on compliance for not having the meter calibrated with extra fifty pence even before it has come into effect. Does anybody else know what's that all about?
